I didn't watch it. I've heard what Obama said before. I don't think Obama's plan will ever pass without a lot of tinkering by Congress, who will be very influenced by lobbyists from the major financial stakeholders (not counting us average citizens). So I'm not too worried about what Obama's plan is. I think we're fvcked no matter what. I'm a baby boomer soon to join the Geritol crowd. My plan for coping with health care costs is to not incur many, sort of a survival of the fittest approach. That said, I'm a GH member, and through my work the employee share of the premium is affordable, and the co-pays (which went way up in 2008) are also as long as I don't have many medical visits or expenses.

Affordable health care for the masses in the US is a thing of the past. Folks are having a hard time adjusting to the fact. No plan that is in the national interest is going to give everybody all the health care they need or desire.
