The 60's version of Dick Cheney, Robert McNamara, died today...McNamara was the architect of the U.S.'s involvement in the Vietnam War, which lead to the death of nearly 60,000 American soldiers, and nothing good whatsoever to show for it.

Unlike Cheney, however, he later admitted that he was terribly wrong in his assessment of what the U.S. involvement in Vietnam should be, and said he would not have done it if given the chance to try again...

Maybe a future Cheney will nut up and admit what a fiasco he caused, too, but somehow I doubt it.
