I was shocked when I took my wife and oldest daughter into Italianissimo's early last month for dinner, and the waitress rattled off Wild Steelhead as one of the nightly featured menu items. How could my local watering hole, owned by a guy I talk to all the time about fishing, be serving Wild Steelhead?


I was determined to get some face time with the owner Kent and discuss this issue with him. Last week we had our discussion, and I forwarded him some materials I obtained from here on PP, & the WSC website. He said that he had no idea that Steelhead were in such peril, and agreed to take it off the menu right away as well as not buy again.

We have another reason to celebrate! One less restaurant out there buying wild fish from local markets

Let's all get together next Thursday night the 18th and give Kent some support for his decision to stop serving Wild Steelhead. He operates one of the best restaurants on the east side, so if you have never been there this is a good chance to check it out before bringing your wife and family in.


In celebration of the occasion, Kent agreed to extend his happy hour for us to 5-9pm, which includes 50% off the bar menu full of good eats like Pizza, Schiacciatta, Steamers, Calamari, Scampi, etc.

$3 Drafts, $4 select glasses of wine.

Italianissimo's is located in Woodinville off Woodinville-Duvall Road and 156th ave. Take Woodinville-Duvall Road East to 156th, hang a left onto 156th, then an immediate right. the restaurant is on your left.

Last month we had a great time at the Duvall Grill appreciation night, & I hope to see you all there Thursday to help support another one of the good guys.

Oh, and SPUD also deserves more credit than I do for making this happen, .....somehow
