Hey Doc check this out, I realize it's a bit dated, but I can assure you nothing much has changed with respect to fish habitat derogation on the CR.

Thanks freespool,

Good read. I agree that dams are a huge part of the problem, and we can generally trace the major beginning of the end for many fisheries to the establishment of the dams, which effectively end the spawning cycle.

It seems to me that dams are a big part of the problem, and a part that needs to be fixed, and I am interested in knowing more about any groups that focus on changing dam policy. I also think that overfishing, habitat, disease and other areas are important as well.

I have no intention of trying to change anybody's mind about the CCA or any other group one way or the other, I'd rather go fishing and swap stories over some Crown Royal. But it seems to me that to bash one group, like the CCA, because it doesn't focus on whatever issue we think is more important, is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I think the effort would be better spent trying to advocate and fix that part of the problem, like dams, if that's the focus.

See you on the rivers.
