Just finished up a pretty decent week for our boat on what should have been the peak of the run for MA10. Started off with average cookie cutter kings at the beginning and ended with less quantity but but nice sized fish. Been running the flasher/squid/ace combo all week with the glow and the green getting bit equally. Fishing shallow early, 40'-60', then dropping down to 90'-130' as the sun comes up.

Friday started off with high hopes and lots of boats. The South wind made it slightly uncomfortable but considering the Summer we've been having, par for the course. It was nice to see all the regulars out there including world famous "Fish Master" Parker ho'ing yet another ride from good guy Tom. I think Parker was sleeping most of the time we saw him, good thing Tom was at the helm! Not sure if he reeled in any flounder this trip, but if they were biting the "flounder pounder" would hook 'em. grin

After a while hopes had diminished when the early bite failed to materialize. John(Rotten Chum) was getting antsy, ready to move to a new location. I told him we were going to make a few more passes and see what happens as I knew there were fish around, but the weather change must have put them off the bite. Persistence has been the key, especially this season. A few minitues later I see John hooked up right in front of us. Holy crap, hot fish! I see the fish's back out of the water trailing the flasher screaming out on top of the water heading right for us. Evasive manuver deployed and the fish was free to do its thing. That was one of the few fish we saw caught.

Talked to a few peeps on the cell and it was slow everywhere. Decided to troll away from the crowd and cover some ground. Meanwhile Parker is back at the launch and reports only three fish checked in so far, not good. Our extended troll produced a lone Chinook jack and that was it. Dad asks me if I'm ready to quit and I say yeah it's about that time as I was going to take my son down to the lake to witness the awesome Blue Angels. Well guess what happened.....

RELEASE!!!!!!!!!

I grab the pole and set the hooks home. Give the rod to Dad and say take him it's yours. The result:

20 pounds and a nice way to end the week.
