That naive MF'er was an intellect, not a policy maker, but he influenced the climate in which policy was made. So when he made statements such as "there is one and only one social responsibility of business -- to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits," policies were inacted that have resulted in the US being in the position she finds herself.

In regards to the two-party system, the Rs and Ds are simply two competing subsidiaries wholly-owned by Corporate. Regardless of which sub enacts policy, it will no doubt benefit Corporate.
