You are correct.
The two breaks that I know of occurred because of misuse....leading a spent fish to the bank with excessive force.
My 9'-6" has been going strong for at least 6 years now.

These rods launch sub 1/2 oz gear perfectly.
My 9'-6" is a dedicated spinner rod.

Lamiglas DC'ed them in casting because too many newbs were abusing them and then seeking warranty help.

Excellent price, by the way....we paid almost 2x that.
