I've always had a hard time understanding the right wing voters in most of the red states...no one, and I mean NO ONE can deny that they constantly and consistently vote in direct opposition to their own personal and economic well being.

Clearly part of the issue is that they totally ignore most any "scientific" or "logical" approach to politics or their own voting habits, and rely virtually entirely upon emotional voting...which means social/religious engineering issues like abortion, gay rights, immigration, or any other minority issue...that's why all that worthless non-issue stuff is contantly being bandied about by right wing politicos, to keep their voting base angry and motivated.

That being said...I think I've finally discovered what might be the overarching concern...I'd love to see study of the prevalence of this condition as compared to voting habits...

"The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled people make poor decisions and reach erroneous conclusions, but their incompetence denies them the metacognitive ability to appreciate their mistakes."

I now fully expect for some folks to react very vehemently to my proposition here...but as usual, they will go farther in affirming my position than disputing it when they do so.

Have at it smile

Fish on...
