The old man in that store ties them up himself , got me for the 2.99 also. I was there 2 weeks ago and herring was the ticket. Tried them for a while, the herring rods kept popping so I switched back over. I do believe these beads do work in large schools, however, " When there in thick you can get them on a plug cut hotdog."
