I went by Lenore on Saturday afternoon after a very windy day. The wind had died off and couple guys were hammering the Lahontins on Lenore with black ice cream cones w/ white ribs....standard fare for early Lenore fishing.

I've been fishing Omak lake with great success even when windy. Mostly 25-35 fish days . Fish were on bloodworms, but have switched menus to pupa already. Even though the water still 36-37 degrees, the pupa are hatching out like crazy on that lake..

It's a hard lake to learn though. Go with a local if you can. Much of the lakes over 200 feet deep and parts are over 300 feet. Only 3 small shoals worth flyfishing w/chronies early. Later on you can drag muddlers with good effect along most of the shoreline. The bigger Lahontins turn to eating Chubs when the chronies and mayflies have hatched.
