Gary Carter was a hell of a player, particularly when he was with the Expos. He never met a camera he didn't like either. Those Mets teams of the mid 80's were tough. However, in 1988 right before the start of the NLCS David Cone wrote an OpEd piece that described why the Mets would beat the Dodgers. Didn't happen as the Dodgers featuring Orel Hershisher and a utility outfielder Mickey Hatcher beat them up. That series was fantastic and it set the table for the unbelievable Kirk Gibson home run against Dennis Eckersley and the steroid powered Oakland A's.
