Oreilly's overall point on gas through the years has been that we have an oil cabal that screws the consumer and that message has been consistent lately as well. He has criticized the President for not articulating a clear plan for dealing with high gas prices, for not calling on the oil companies to do the right thing and help the economy by lowering prices while record profits are being realized. Agree with him or not, the message on gas has been pretty consistent.

As for fuel prices, you are going to pay no matter what you drive. If you drive a lesser efficient vehicle you will pay more. If you pony up and buy a more efficient vehicle you still will pay. You will pay the cost of the vehicle and the oil companies just raise the price of fuel so in the end even though you use less fuel you still pay more for it.

The problem will not go away and you will either adapt or walk. If you are waiting for the government to help out, bring lunch and a good book or two, its gonna be awhile.
