With Parker's input and advice I'm planning to get around a 40" Sony LCD, a new tuner, and the whole 9 yards, whatever that is. I figured I will need some kind of new sound system for it, but I built these new speakers into the ceiling when building the house, and they sound so good, I'm not sure that I need anything else. I guess a sub-woofer is supposed to be part of the sound package, but I'm kinda' down on sub-woofers since I can hear the neighbor kid's going woomba, woomba, . . . when I'm trying to watch my TV, and I have to go tell him to turn it down before I blow his place up. Maybe a sub-woofer dialed down a scoosh adds value to a sound system; I don't know. Anyway I'm looking forward to getting a 21st century TV.

Just because the kid next door blows his freakin ear drums doesn't mean you need to do likewise. The bass of a sub woofer adds a huge dimension, Sg, and once you hear its influence to movies, you'll never go back to being without it. Just my 2, ya ol' dinosaur. smile
