Yep, I was out for the opener. I hunted Saturday from sun up to about 1pm when the temperature climbed over 80 degrees. It was too hot to run the dogs and uncomfortable for the humans too so I called it a day.

Anyway, I hunted private land SE of Moses Lake. My dog flushed about 25 birds. I flushed far more hens than roosters, but those roosters that I saw were well feathered and pretty smart for the opener. I managed to shoot two and may have had a chance at others, but my dog (1.5 years old) busted a bunch of birds far out of range.

Overall, there seems to be as many roosters as last year, but far more hens than I've seen in the last 5 years. Hopefully that'll mean better seasons to come.
