Thats right. Odds of 2 years in a row are 1 in 100.

Good way to show this is with the coin example. The odds of a getting a tail is 50/50 (1 out of 2) but odds of getting it twice in a row is %25 (1 out of 4) and odds of getting tails 3 times in a row is %12.5 (1 out of 8).

That is because when you flip the coin twice you can have 4 combinations.

Head Head or
Head Tail or
Tail Head or
Tail Tail

so overall tail tail odds will be 1 in 4 (%25) which is %50 of %50.

If you do the same for 3 coin toss you see the odds of 3 tails in a row are 1 in 8 (%12.5) which is %50 of %50 of %50.

For deer example it would be %10 of %10 which is %1.
