If the river is open, most of the fishing is done at the mouth where it hits the Columbia. The upper wind basically dries up and your more of a man than I am if you try to float it. Most of the salmon are "upriver brights" bound for Hanford and they are just looking for some cooler water. Trolling is the gig here; herring, mag-wigglers, or sardine wrapped K-fish. Some guys fish off the bank but most of the fish are caught by trollers. Unfortunately, the last couple of years the fishing has just flat-out sucked!! To warm of water, not enough fish, too many gillnetters, take your pick
