Hit the opener for Coho on the Chehalis at Montesano and wanted to brag a bit. When we pulled out 30 boats registered 9 Coho. Not exactly hot action, but those fools in a bass tracker boat (me & my buddy) did manage to hook and land a 60+ pound Chinook on a blue fox spinner! Took 55 minutes to get it into the net (steelhead pole and 10 lb test leader). The (quick) length measurement was 49 inches before getting it back in the water to revive it and watch it swim away. And I really have to admit that seeing it swim away after all that time was the best part. I'll have a replica made to help me keep the memories.
Thanks to all the folks who watched from a distance and altered their fishing routes to let me fight the fish without any interference.

Yeah, I wanted to brag a bit, but I also wanted the fishing community to know that there are some big fish still out here in Washington waters and some good sportsmen/women who will still get out of the way and let a person play a fish.

Good luck to the rest of you! Salty-Dog.
