I don't doubt it. When I was young I use to kill a lot of silvers casting plugs at nite on the Cowlitz. Get done with Beavis and Butthead and walk a block to the river. The area has changed a lot with all the fuking silt. You just can't trust a valcano(Army Corps). They're ruthless.

I guess the enjoyment really depends on the location. I was on a rock in a dike stuck between trees. Not the kind of fishing that's much fun at night if you're not catching. No bonfires and beers there. I nice gravel bar would be different I suppose.
