After releasing three beautiful natives on the Carbon last weekend I returned on the 12th to try for a repeat. Only managed one hatchery hen around eight pounds, but heard some disturbing news from a fellow angler. It seems he has seen or heard of several native fish being killed and packed out. The one angler he confronted stated that according to the fishing pamphlet he could kill natives on the Puyallup system. It has been highley publicized on the news and on the WDFW website that this system closed to keeping wild fish way back on December 1st. Regardless of weather the state allows keeping wild fish we need to get the message out to ALL fishermen that ALL wild steelhead need to be released. There is very little enforcement by the state so I suggest WE increase our efforts to enforce this. I am sure everyone on this forum agrees with this and will do their part to continue to educate the misguided or ignorant anglers they encounter. I know this has been said many times before but I felt it was my turn to post it. I feel better now......thanks!
