I have a GL2 spinning rod in 10#-20#, and I agree that it doesn't have the sensitivity you would want for the methods of fishing you mention. But it works great for cast-and-retrieve fishing, and, for example, I'm looking forward to using it on this summer's musky and trophy pike fishing adventure.

I also agree with simlesforu that you can get a rod that would be cheaper than the GL2 and better for the way you want to use it.
