After hitting the jackpot on the Meltdown slot machine at the Little Creek Casino for $4000.00 yesterday, I thought that maybe some of that luck would still be around today. Hit my favorite local river this morning and although the fishing was not great , I did hook into a hog. The big buck hit a silver #2 Mor-Tac Stilly Spoon worked near a submerged log. After a nice fight I landed the slab and took a couple of quick measurements and a picture before releasing him back into the river. 39" in length and a girth of 24". If I remember the formula correctly that makes this fish 22.46 pounds. It's nice to see that there are still some big natives around so close to home. Hopefully more will be following this one.
