My Trout rods are Shimano Clarus. $90 and a lifetime over-the-counter warranty. Hard to beat that, and they are really nice rods too. Great action, quality components, lightweight, sensitive and well made. Like said above, Loomis tends to be overkill for Trout unless you are constantly drifting bait in a stream for big wild Browns or something similar. For most of us that just like to whack a few planters with the family a few times a year, there are lower price options.
Actually, the other lami (720 6ft.)mentioned is just right for trout fishing and both loomis' discussed are reasonably priced(Under $80). The 562 L is a softer rod but for kids it's really nice as reefing too hard just bends the rod a little more and is forgiving as far as last minute runs from larger fish.A little soft for trolling, though.Al rods mentioned in this thread will work, though.
