This is an interesting topic. I can see it both ways. When was the last time a Westport charter boat captain required an angler to quit fishing before the "boat" limited? How about just a boat out in the Sound with more than one person on it? Do your buddys put up their rods, or are you looking to limit the boat? When you have a youngster who is trying to learn to fish, how much help can you give him or her before you break the law? Can you lend a hand to make sure the rod doesn't go into the drink? Can you take over if the kid panics? Strictly speaking, I think it is against the rules to continue angling, but this rule doesn't get enforced much.
