WDFW's actions in this Goat Roping Rodeo are a concern. Staff actually "hides" the only workable (from a conservation perspective) harvest scheme and this is supposed to engender trust and openess? My view is we need to know what at least appears to work before we decide what course to take.

Another thought that should be bothersome. Many folks believe that the problems we have in salmon management are caused by having the Treaty Tribes and Federals involved. Meeting their needs (treaties, ESA, etc.) is what gums up the process. Except that WDFW runs the whole show in Willapa. What they are telling us is that if we can get rid of the tribes and get rid of the Feds we'll give you WB all over the state.
