From my experience with Gamakatsu, I used to use Gamakatsu jig hooks but I got 2 or 3 complaints and I was forced to switch. I now run Mustad heavy duty hooks, these hooks are by far the strongest and they are as sharp as the Gamies! I went out with a 8'6" rod loaded with 20lb Maxima and went on a float and brought this rod along for $hit's and giggles. I put on a bare jig hook 1/8oz and casted it into log jam after log jam and snagged them on purpose and reefed on them. I could pull the boat over to the snag before the hooks would bend. I never did end up breaking or bending any hooks, but I am sure like anything some time or another anything can happen. I sell just the plain moulded jig hooks or tied ones.
