For cohos, I prefer spinners (#4 or #5) in orange or charteruse. I try to cover alot of water and don't spend much time in each hole. Spinners allow you to move fast and cover each hole quickly. If there are active fish, you can usually coax a strike within the first few casts. If not, move on.

For Chinooks, I've never had much success with hardware. I usually find a deep hole and drift the biggest gob of eggs I can impale on a hook. But the first hour at dawn seems to be the only time I've been successful. Good luck.
