Cobbly Cruiser...

When I retired in 1997, I went to Woolridge, on Martin King Road and chatted, went thru the built area. At that time, they weren't interested in building a "small but wide" boat. The boats they build are very well done but just not what I wanted.

I hear ya, I was only responding to the price on the ETEC. My sig line is where I work. smile

You're right though, the under 20' versions back then didn't feature the bottom and beam widths they do now. Our 17' AK XL's have a 6'4" bottom and there are options on the 17' XP's to get 6 1/2' or even 7' if a guy wanted to get a very "squarish" looking boat. Haven't seen that yet though. We definitely see the wisdom in smaller sled bottom width in terms of side drifting, plug pulling, hauling weight etc.
