Haven't checked the premiums but I'm fairly certain they didn't go down. I believe the co-pays are the same. We also pay into a flexible savings account for health care payments that are not covered by insurance and co-pays, even can by OTC meds and vitamins but have to submit claims. I think a lot of money for health care goes into administration, billing, and dealing with insurance.

Drug companies also spent a lot on research for new drugs. Dad just started a drug that was approved to fight cancer last year, Opdivo. I think this is the same as the drug Jimmy Carter was on to eliminate his cancer. It helps your immune system fight the cancer. I think it de-activates a certain protein on the DNA in cancer cells to allow your immune system to fight it. It's not cheap.
