The rifle is just like the religion in this and in most of these lone wolf attacks.

This was not a terrorist attack for the simple reason it wasn't a terrorist target.

The root cause is similar, if not exactly, the same as all the others. A crazy, dumbass loser who blames all of his problems on others.

Failed husband. Failed gay guy. Failed cop. If only society wasn't so mean and tough he'd be a happy husband, a happy gay guy or a happy cop but no, society is evil and mean and needs to pay. The whole religion/ISIS connection is just a way to justify his evil actions in his own twisted mind (just like past excuses have been bullying, white supremacy, video games etc..).

It's not the lone wolf's of this world that scare me. It's the politicians who start their speeches with, "Today is not a day for politics," and then spend the next hour talking nothing but politics.

And worse are the pea-wits who take that line of thinking hook, line and sinker and base their whole world view on some bullsh!t political belief system that has no basis in actual truth. "Vote for me and I'll put an end to all of this", is, well complete bullsh!t!!!
