I've been a huge football fan my entire life and watch about all the games I can. My buddies have begged me for years to join their FF league and they finally talked me into it this year after years of reluctance.
So far I am kinda disgusted. The amount of time and planning that goes into winning is shocking. The fact that a lot of the good players in fantasy score points in garbage time bothers me. Some of the worst QBs are the best fantasy QBs. It is very addicting but I don't like the intensity it can bring to Sunday's when otherwise I already have a heart attack watching the Hawks game I don't need a heart attack every game.
When I used to play actual sports, when I would lose I would know I had ran til I puked and did my very best. When I lose at fantasy it feels like I wasted a [Bleeeeep!] load of time and isn't a good feeling.
So I'm curious how many of you partake in FF and how you manage it. Do you think all this time matters? Is it mostly luck during the draft? The whole thing kinda blows my mind because it doesn't seem to be productive or even fun. It's just nerdy with some potential or glory. Very different than I expected and honestly I don't need it to watch football at all.
