To be fair, the DirectDrive BCS deserves an honorable mention and another trip to the top....

Thanks, Doc.

I'm not a dyed-in-the-wool spoon guy, and my experience with them has been mixed.
I found that when hooked up to a nasty head-shaker with a spoon, there is a lot of weight shaking back and forth.
Casting spoons are superior for long casts, wind-cutting and fast water but their weakness is during the fight, IMO (maintaining hookup).

So, I came up with the Bead Chain Spoon.
When running, it looks like a conventional spoon although it looks odd all splayed out in the pic.
Casting performance is decent.
Most important is that once hooked up, Mr. Big has a harder time getting rid of it because the connection does not flow through the spoon.
He's on a pseudo flying gaff so to speak.

If you're getting spoons thrown off too often, try the BCS.
