I'm amazed that Seattle's City Council can be so stupid. Do they really think the tax won't have an effect on purchases within the city, when consumers can just stock up on soda whenever they drive past the city limit boundary? Just like the Seattle gun ammo tax, everyone buys their ammo out of town.

Just as the high taxes on cigarettes doesn't affect me, the soda tax won't either, because I don't live in Seattle and don't often drink soda. Now the high WA state taxes on alcohol, that is another matter altogether . . .
