Hmmm, I must have watched a different game. I saw superbly talented defensive teams shut down what had been for most of the season, very productive offensive teams. I think there was also a battle of wits between coaches and coaching staff. And old age and treachery, in the form of Bellicheck, won.

I am as sick of the Pats as anybody but I still respect them and am beyond the cheating stuff. I am sure they bent the rules, but its clear now they are a very well run organization and the coaching and players put then in winning situations; its all about the preperation and they are the best.

I was rooting for the Pats because, how could I root for the Rams? The Pats put this SB trophy in the pile with the others and the Rams score 3 points in the SB and hopefully implode as a result and take a giant step back down to earth. I would much rather that be the story instead of this being the Rams first of many SBs. This loss by the Rams makes the Hawks SB more special, and the Hawks last SB loss less painful. They scored more than 3 against a likely better Pats team in that loss.

Go home and lick your balls Rams.

I have to agree with Salmo. Seems that "most" folks think that a defense (in any sport) is just there for window dressing. Score, early and often. Lots of touchdown passes, many 3-pt shots, homers galore. I must be old as I prefer quality play by all participants, which includes defense.

Rams fan? Or Patriots hater? I fail to see the difference.

The Patriots are beyond impressive. You can dislike and respect the same thing. That is where I am with the Patriots. I just dislike the Rams and have since they became divisional rivals, no respect for them. 3 points is all they had. Lol at the Lambs.

Ram's offense wasn't ever the same once Cooper Kupp got injured.

Exactly.

PAC-12 CCG ends up 10-3 but that’s two horrible teams representing a horrible conference playing a horrible game. SB ends 10-3 and its two excellent teams that are extremely well coached playing a wonderfully compelling game.

Just saying.

I know Cooper Kupp is good but I think its more like teams have learned to play what the Rams do. A lot was made of Goff and Gurley falling off late season, can we put that all on Kupp. They made it to the SB without Kupp. He was out mid season.

I think teams are dissecting and dismantling the Rams trickery. You saw the real Goff last night, he is no elite QB at all. Its a system and Bellicheat was the coach to figure out how to shut it down.

A fast slot receiver is the most important player on the field these days. They lost Kupp and were never the same. Hell Edelman is basically a slot receiver.

Kupp is good but Cooks and Woods are good as well. I just don’t think you can blame this on the loss of Kupp. They lost him in like week 9 and he missed several games before that with a knee sprain. They dominated without him, for a little while.

Gurley is a mystery for sure. If he doesnt have a surgery this week its even stranger.

The NFL is the ultimate copycat league. And the Seahawks put on tape what to copycat!

Or to put it another way. It's the same thing that ended Kaepernick's career smile .

Nobody said that they lost because of kupp. It was just something to think about.

I don’t think Gurley is injured, I think he simply doesn’t care. Maybe a locker room situation, but it’s clear he’s given up.

Salaries for great nickle backs is going to sky rocket in the near future. You have to try and jam them @ the LS, easier said then done. Coleman is going to get paid, he's just going to get better.

Carson will never stay healthy, besides Gurly can catch the ball out of the back field.

I believe his knee made him miss the last three games of the season. I don't see any quit in that dude...he did have 1250 yards in 13 games averaging 4.9 YPC.I think he came back too early because of the SB.

We might get lucky with our first pick last year "Penny" 4.3 speed. He can take one to the house at any given time.

Edelman is a beast.
Just as Amendola and Welker were before him.
He does not fear the middle, he owns it actually.

That's an important part of the Patriot system.

There could be something physically wrong with him.
He has a history of knee issues.

The way the Patriots defense played, I don't think it would have mattered much.
CJ didn't impact the game and he was haulin' ass prior.

These are all the correct answers. It was a boring Superb Owl to the general spectator. It's the one singular game that most want to be exciting with lots of scores (of course). But it was a hell of a defensive special. It often looked there was an extra DB / S on the field at times. The Pats O' did a great job game planning away from the center of the Rams D with Edlebeard. Suh was around early in the game and then he vanished for the most part.

If I were the Rams, sometime in the early to mid 3rd quarter, I would have pull out some tricks to try and break the game free. I figured they would have figured they'd have nothing else to lose, but instead played it super safe the whole game. IDK.

I think Tony Romo has a bright future in broadcasting. Way better than Collingsworth and many others.

Todd and I were talking about Romo during the game last night. We both came to the conclusion that's he's VERY good, likable and may just be football's Nostradamus. Dude calls out plays before the snap like he's still in the huddle. On one play last night, he actually went through the entire formation, checkoff, new play, 1st read, 2nd read, pass to the dump-off man milliseconds before it was happening in real time. I've NEVER seen a color man do that. It was like he was playing a video game and actually controlling Brady on that play. It was amazing.

Lighting fast defensive recognition and can breakdown complex schemes and plays in an easy going and articulate way. He doesn't root, play favorites or whine.

He's gonna be around a LONG time. Good for him. He's WAY better than Aikman, Simms, Collingsworth and Joe Buck.

Yeah, that predicted play calling, I've never seen broadcaster do that more than one play or so. You could tell he was pretty proud. grin
