The average drivers reliance on good luck always blows my mind. I drove down a big icy hill this morning and had a bunch of vehicles on my bumber testing their luck. I left 5 minutes early to be able to drive slower, thats how I think.

Saw a lot of people spend 4 hours in the ditch instead of investing 5 more minutes to get there. Sucks to wade through all the dipshits to make it in to the sales meeting and find out everyone else was calling in.

And how the hell do you flip your car over onto it's top in a 25 mph zone?! $85K fancy all-wheel-drive SUV didn't look so great upside down.

Just in my neighborhood there were six tough guys with "look how little my dick is" trucks in the ditches. Watched two more of them spin out on the freeway, one went into the median and the other hit the guardrail...that one had the "look how little my balls are balls" hanging off the back of his truck.

This Subaru driver drove around those shitferbrains up and down the hills out of my neighborhood and to work, worked 6am til 7pm on Monday, and then did it again yesterday.

Moral of the story is that the smaller your dick is, the bigger truck you drive, and the more likely you are to have to call an Uber driver in a Prius to take you to your low wage job flipping burgers.

Good luck out there, and don't forget, everyone of those idiots on the road helps Stam go fishing in warm places, and then he sometimes posts cool pics.

If you are one of those dickless wonders, more power to ya!

Fish on...

You are correct....it's even more funner when a montanloid, coloradite, or wyomingomer moves out here, proudly announces they know how to drive in the snow, then proceed to pile it up...

Then....wth, this snow is slipperyer than our snow back home.

...it all pays the same.

Precisely. That's why I don't brag or complain. When you're good, you don't need to. I just drive and wave as I go by laugin'.

Congrats on your good fortune Stamly. If I could control the weather, I'd make it dump everyday for you and get some sweet kick-backs. Alas, all I can do for you is a hard break check or two.

i also bought a Grand Cherokee with full time 4wd, the Quardra-Trac II system, with the 4.7 Powertech V8, that has been tuned, and is pushing over 300 HP...

right now i have Goodyear Wrangler ST's on it, and while it drives fine in this crap, im buying new tires soon, was just at the tire shop as a matter of fact...

might go with the BFG AT/KO2s, or the Kuhmo Road Venture AT51...

dont need MT's on this, the full time 4wd is ridiculously sure footed...

nope, never bought the Tahoe, looked at a couple, but they were too expensive and high mileage for what i was trying to accomplish...

if i can find a 95-99 with under 120k i will buy it....

but, i just found out here, a 2001 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7, its the limited tho, mine is a Laredo, for 3500 bucks.... 126k on the clock, which isnt bad...

my neighbor is also selling an 85 K5 blazer, for 5400, but its on 35's and those size tires kill you when you need to replace them... i still havent ruled out a K5 tho...

there was a 2001 Expedition for 5500 that had 50k miles on it that i should have bought, but i didnt, and it sold a couple days ago....

i also havent ruled out a fox body, or late 70s early 80s Cutlass and throw a big block in it, theres also a 1970 Monte Carlo with a 400 in it for 6k that im eyeing....

its all gonna come down to if i want to put a hitch on this Jeep or not... because i plan on buying a little boat to chase Kokes....

I haven't put my truck in 4wd on the roadway to get to work in years. I leave it in 2wd and drive like a human should, and I get by just fine - and I pass numerous 4x4's wrecked on the way to work every time it snows or is icy.

4wd just gets you to drive faster than you should be driving. You step on the gas, and it goes. It's the coming to s stop afterwards that gets people in trouble.

I crawled over the top of the Graham hill thinking I might have to go 4x4 on Monday afternoon, but managed to get it done.

It just seems that people can't find the right speed to go. They're either crawling along so slowly that they have no business even being out in those conditions being a rolling roadblock, or they go faster than anyone should possibly be going.

What people should do is check my speed because I'm always going the speed you should be going.

driving well in the snow in trucks also has to do with the tires...

on my Silverado, i had 34 inch MT's on it, and the lugs were so wide they filled up with snow and turned into slicks... 4wd was fine, but i didnt like having to do it on streets... get it in the mud or dirt, and you couldnt stop it whatsoever....

main reason im not going with a MT on the Jeep, because it absolutely doesnt need it... sure, i can spin the tires if i push on the gas too hard, but all vehicles will do that....

BFG's are expensive tho, im at about 1k for just the tires, for a 245/65/16... i can get tires from Kuhmo or whatnot for around 120 dollars a tire... installation at the place i go to, is 80 bucks for all of them.... the Kuhmo and other brands ive been looking at, also have 55-65k mile warranties...

It was unbelievable to me when I lived in Oregon how many dumb fukks in prius and ford focus pos cars ended up in a ditch on snow and black ice roads because they have to go 70 and pass people going to Newport or some other coastal road. It's common sense, and most people don't have it.

Speaking of zombies.....yesterday morning it was a balmy 22 degrees and I saw a guy pull into the parking lot at Safeway with his window down, arm resting on the door like it was 80 degrees. He got out of his car, wearing a sleeveless t-shirt and shorts. And no, he wasn't coming from the gym, this fat fuk hadn't worked out in years. It bothered me that I was sharing oxygen on this planet with this idiot.

Evo,

Can you tell me why an unemployed apparent deadbeat like yourself has a Cadillac and a 300 HP Cherokee when you're going nowhere in life? I mean, are you trying to get nowhere twice as fast, having two cars, and apparently looking for a third? I simply don't understand you.

We can all pat ourselves on the back for that.

It's a good thing.

Think of the folks wearing confederate flag sleeveless tshirts smoking Marlboro reds outside of a crooked trailer in a shittty trailer park...with a $60,000 jacked up truck with metal balls hanging off the back and a gigantic satellite dish outside that cost more than the trailer and everything in it...remember those guys in the 70s?

Add in internet service and you have Evo.

Maybe that will help with your understanding.

People that don't own a truck don't tow anything.
That's fine.
Lots of women don't tow anything and get by just fine driving Subaru's.
I respect that.
They know their place.

Someday these women may actually pay off their mortgage and own something they need to tow.
Whether it be for work or pleasure.
They may eventually need some horsepower.

The ones we should all be scared of are the pretenders.

I don't know how many trips that bought, considering the deal he threw at me I doubt it bought all that much...but that didn't require a little dick in a big truck, that just required trying to read directions and drive at the same time!

Think tractor's.My trucks 4x4 has got me out of countless problems in sand, mud, snow,gravel....etc. Ice is another story if there isn't some snow in the mix.

My old man handed me down a Husqvarna 430XC when I was a junior in high school. That bike kicked so much ass. Riding bikes is a young man's sport, though, but I sure do miss it.

Back in the late 70s when I had my permit my dad taught me how to drive his Chevy truck in the snow. When I got my license I got my Grandpa's Chevy Camaro with a 250 6 cylinder and I put the studs on and it would fish tail a little. Had the car through college and drove back and forth across the pass. Went to Ratskellers in Moscow Idaho on Thursday $2 pitcher night, returned to Pullman by the softball fields and ended up on the sidewalk at the 90 degree turn down hill and was pulled over by the Police who let me go to my apartment off Valley Rd. The neighbor upstairs was from the East Bay area and he had a real hot blonde girlfriend and a big Toyota 4 weel drive but he was probably like 5 ft-4. She left him so what Todd says may be true. Now I have a F-150 2002 Supercrew 140,000 mi but need new tires, rotors, and brake pads and a 2004 F-350 diesel with 160,000 mi. My sons have Chevy trucks and my wife likes to tease him about his big truck little dik. He's having his truck lowered either because he thinks his dik will grow or so he can go through the car wash.

I weighed about 140 pounds at the time and had an issue with touching my toes on both sides of the bike - lol - fvck you guys!

But when I got that thing rolling, I really got it rolling. The horsepower to weight ratio was bigly in my favor compared to most people.

We used to do the High Desert 100 in Bend every year, the Mattawa 100 a few times, and every summer we'd camp out up along the Little Naches river and ride the bikes all over. Really awesome times.

I never flipped off the back of my bike, but I did flip my dad's new bike and tore the rear fender off of it before he even rode it. He had just got the new Husky 500XC, and had me messing with the carb jets. I took it out and was riding past my old school and saw a bunch of my buddies at soccer practice. They gave me the wheelie sign so I cracked that throttle - and promptly wound up on my back with the bike laying on the ground with one of the hand grips and the rear fender fvcked up.

It was embarrassing and expensive at the same time. Those assholes thought it was pretty funny though.

That 500 was a piece of sh!t compared to the 430. I totally got the best end of that deal.

You want to see some carnage, watch youtube videos of motocross crashes. You may feel sick afterward.

I recall one where a guy was ejected from his bike head first into objects around the track to lay lifeless for a few moments then get back on his bike and race some more, and that hapened three times in the same race!

They had some poop.
Metal tank and all.

Biggest issue was the kickback when kick starting it.
Ouch.

Then the thing took my right ACL.

Funny you said that. I was cleaning out my dads shop few weeks back and dug up my old peralta hawk board and a couple of broken vision decks. Takes me back to the days when I used to bounce of the ground, nowadays I'd probably break chit.

Is this supposed to be impressive, or impressively slow?
congrats on putting z rated tires on a basically stock turd that weighs as much as your house?

its illegal for tire companies to put tires on your car that dont meet the speed requirements...

thats why....

atleast the places i go to wont do it, ever, at all, once....

but, im sure you are going to tell me im wrong, and could have bought sh!tty tires at WalMart....

I was driving the ol' F150 home on 203 last night. Snow piled high on the sides of the road and a bit icy, so I was going the appropriate speed. Somewhere near Carnation, I came around a turn and damned Cow Elk was standing in my lane. I swerved a bit and put the truck into a nice snow bank. I got out, locked the hubs and pulled her out. Easy peasy. No damage done except to my britches. I shoulda hit her, cuz hey, free Elk meat.

The end.

One part about it I like is I don't have to get out and lock the hubs to put it in 4WD. I went to college to learn how to push buttons and I can push that 4WD button right in the cab. thumbs

You'll pull an easy 200k more out of that thing if you do the timing belt. My Tacoma is pretty easy to drive in the snow and ice and I think it's the same chassis as your 4Runner. I only used 4wd in this last storm to get up the driveway into the garage one day. Didn't need it the rest of the time.

I took the 04 F350 Power Stroke diesel for a run today hauling some old chemicals out of the rental down to the waste facility. It works good but the street tires are slick. 160K miles. Hooked up for a 5th wheel. Should get the fuel injectors cleaned.

Haven't taken out the 02 F150 supercrew 140K miles out for a couple of weeks. The General Grabber AT2s are getting worn. Transmission is a little clunky when it downshifts around 40 MPH. Probably from towing the old boat but it came with the tow package. Need new brakes, rotors, and tires. Trucks are paid for, no payments.

My father in law has a 4 runner like mid 2000s. His last fishing rig took out the back seats. His health and memory are failing and will probably not come home. He told mom to give me his fishing gear.

My wife's 19 Honda Pilot Elite does great in the snow. Have taken her out everyday. She put a little ding in the tail gate at a parking garage so need to make an appointment. Bremerton is closer than Enumclaw but I don't think Stam is hurting for business.

Have Subaru, will travel. If we ever got 2 or 3 feet of snow, then I'd have issues. Suby can only snowplow so far until the weight of the snow and the coefficient of friction prevent me from going any further.
