What a bunch of pussies. It's snow, relax....drive slow, tap your brakes, leave distance between yourself and the car in front of you. If you can't do this, stay home and stop reproducing.
Now the big storm is coming....schools closing early, flights cancelling early, people are shaking in fear. Pussies.
I went to QFC to pick up a few things for the weekend....steak and wine, but the parking lot was full. No carts in the store, every checkout stand was 10 deep, shelves empty....oh my god, the end of the world is near! Pussies.
I grew up where we didn't see the asphalt of the road or parking lots for 3 months of the year because of the snow and ice. Deal with it.
Had to vent....drives me crazy.

Who cares.
I grabbed a 4 person tube that you tow behind a boat.
Gonna hook it to the back of the side by side and drag the kids around over frozen piles of mule and horse chit!!

Back of the truck is full of firewood.

Cooler is full of beer.

Another couple episodes of Game of Thrones with my wife tonight.

Just gonna send it!!!!!!!!!!!

Komo news crews are reporting not much snow, but promise to drive to higher locations to hopefully find some.....more at 11. And Gov Inslee has declared a state of emergency.....I feel so much better. The 3 inches of snow here in Duvall is terrifying.

We have about five inches in Seatac and it's dumping still...but planes are still flying! A buddy boarded in San Diego about an hour ago and is on his way here, I defrosted his rig (been parked here for eight days) and moved it out front, and it's already completely covered again.

Q13 said to brace for the EPIC STORM in decades. The last snow we got 3 inches. Hoq had zero I heard. The temp has dropped from 41 to 32.1 in less than 2 hours. Should start any minute.

Here in PA up at our house (800’) we are going on to 20”. The first band of snow started at 7 am yesterday and by noon it was a scramble getting the students home. This is heading on par with the snow of ‘96.

Still snowing hard here in Seatac, just topped ten inches of snow on the front walk. Considering shoveling, but also considering more of this coffee and not shoveling.

The commute to work was even easier this morning then coming home last night.

Another inch+ in the last two hours, on top of yesterday's 12 inches...and it is really coming down.

Hopefully no one goes to work in the city so I have less dimwits and tiny dicks to dodge on my way in...though I think the afternoon commute will be the really gnarly one, may be a "leave a bit early" day.

I'm afraid that if this weather keeps up, some people around here will start learning how to drive in it. It won't change the POS Prius epidemic, but those heathens are past saving anyway.

20" now in the yard. Amazing how people forget how to drive in this chit!! Lots of implants to "The Valley" in the last 10 years though, so they haven't had much practice as we haven't had winters like we used to

We just got brushed by the first go round last week here in Adna as the storm tracked to the north of us. We got about 6 inches on Sat. / Sun. and another 4 inches last night into this morning. We had several small conifers, like 12' to 16' high, uproot and fall over due to the weight of the wet snow. No big deal, just goes with the territory on a tree farm.

The one thing that's been kind of a bitch is that my main water line, from the meter down 900 feet to the house, has burst somewhere in between. So, no water since January 24th or there about. One of the neighbors have let us use their shower and fill our water jugs so that has helped a lot.

Damn, I just wish it would warm the hell up so the ditching crew can begin work.

Thats sucks, Bart! I am glad that the only casualty at my house so far is my boat cover, which used to be nine feet tall and is now sitting on top of my boat...it will need a rebuild once the storms subside.

Shut down the office at 2:30 today, schit started getting real again at about 11, and really bad about 2...got home to find that the 15" that was here is now 18", and it is like a fuckin blizzard. Big flakes, so hopefully it's warming up.

That drive home was the worst one yet...all of the slush from yesterday's warm spell underneath a fat layer of three inches of new snow...lots of spinouts this afternoon, and dimwits stuck on the hills all around my house. No Tiny Dick Mans stuck in the neighborhood, but did see one take off too fast out of a four way stop, do most of a 360 before hitting the curb, and then get it together and drive like he had an actual penis.

The rest were people in two wheel drives who should have stayed home this week.

We had 11" from Friday night and got another 8" today. Been in our house since 2002 and this is the most snow we've had. It just stopped and started raining so we'll see what happens now. Lost 2 nice trees in the yard.

It snowed 8 inches at my house in Oly today, on top of what we already had - then it turned to rain about 4 o'clock.

It's pouring down rain now.

Our neighborhood is a slushy mess.

I bet my neighbors are wondering who snowboarded through their yard last night....

Snowmageddon totaled 9" here in SE Oly. Maybe it was more if I added it up daily, before any of it compacted down. But the most I had to walk through was no more than 9". Started raining some yesterday afternoon. Now we have untold amounts of slush.

Got a meeting in Seattle this evening, but I presume it would be a totally crazy idea to drive up there, so I'll probably stay home and watch TV. Been a lotta' TV watchin' this past week.

It's starting to rain at our place in Clearview. The roads are going to be an ice rink after dark. I have no intentions of leaving my place any time soon.

The snow here is tall enough that my short Cocker Spaniel is really pissed off. The old dog is not impressed while the Lab thinks its the greatest thing ever.

Last but not least, our well water holding tank blew a fitting or something, so we have no water. That's going to be fun to deal with in the coming days.

All in all, this is some bullchit IMO.

I got to watch a new movie on Netflix, called Snow Box. It’s about this dark, evil “being” that takes over parents of kids who have stayed home because of closed schools. All the patents have to do is just look at their kids and they are instantly filled with rage and suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Oddly enough, all school children are not effected and seem quite happy with not going to school.

Seems the only escape is to be on a river. I never made it to a river.

I officially hate snow.

Yeah - it sucks and I hope your troubles aren't too costly Bart. We've been taking showers at friends places and stealing their water for cooking, dishes and toilet sports. I could always melt some snow too, but that would require extra effort.

As much as it sucks, I think the Cocker is the most butthurt of all. He's the master at giving dirty looks of complete disapproval and disdain. Good thing he can't speak or I'd have to hear about it too. He's such an adorable, grumpy old man.

Deep slush to me is more dangerous than compact snow, that chit grabs you and you have limited choices. We got 3 inches the first round and a dusting the second round. I'm happy. thumbs

Obviously too late now, but the next time freezing temps are predicted open one of the faucets in the house a skosh. Just a trickle will (hopefully) keep the water in the main line from freezing and expanding.

You fkn pussy.

Thanks Hank. Great advice. Thing is, this pipe rupture thing happened at least a couple of weeks before it got cold here.

I received a notification from my water supply outfit that I had a major leak on my side of the meter. Rather than try and track down a leak in a 900 ', 30 year old 1" poly pipe, I took the cheaper way out and went for installing a 2" schedule 80 PVC pipe with a locating wire attached. No sense trying to fix something that is likely to do it again in another spot.

We had to wait for about 8 or 9 days for our turn to come up in the job schedule. Then it froze and the ground was to hard for the trenchers to come in.

Then came all of this snow craziness. So, it is what it is.

Believe it or not, I actually some pretty cool plans for the $14,548.67 that is now going to pay for a damn fool hole in the ground.

Damn good thing I halted consumption of distilled fruits and grains a few years back. I could see myself, buck naked, trying to take a bath by rolling around in the snow. Not a pretty picture to be sure.

One more thing ... Lighten up Vapid !

M.

Careful telling Hank that he's wrong, even if it's completely factual and easily verifiable...he'll find a Breitbart article or a Hannity quote to tell you that you're wrong wink

These stories are making me glad that the carport sitting directly on top of my boat is all the damage at my place...that will be easy enough to clean up once this bullschit melts, unlike having to dig up half the yard for Bart and Nick.

Tip: the slow lane is the new fast lane.

Yup - slow lane for the win. It cracks me up how bad the fast lane campers are around here. They'd be run off the road or shot if they pulled that crap on the East Coast.

On the flip side, us "slow" lane drivers have to deal with this...

Good luck everybody!

Not sure what slow or fast is anymore. I routinely go to Seattle on Sunday. Going 70 to 80 on average and routinely get blown by. About every 3rd or fourth week I see someone easily pushing 90 and occasionally higher than that. This generally is in fairly heavy traffic, so about half the time the guys are cutting back and forth. We watched one guy passing traffic on the inside shoulder to keep up his pace. Don't dare to go under 70 or you risk your life. In about 5 years of this commute I have seen about 4 or 5 police cars in the area between Federal Way and the North Seattle. Past Fife the traffic will often open up a little. In this area I routinely see the State Patrol and would not dare go over 70.

I guess I am getting old, but last year I got pulled over twice. Both involved city of Tacoma officers. The first I was going just slightly faster than the inside land through the port of Tacoma in heavy traffic. I was going around 65 in the 1.5 mile gap between lights. A city of Tacoma police officer pulled me over and I figured he got me somewhere in the high 60's. At this point he started berating me for going too slow. The second time was when another city of Tacoma police officer blew a light and came around a corner and had to lock up his brakes to keep from hitting me. I yelled at him to slow down when he swung around me. At that point he slammed on the brakes and pulled me over. Started yelling at me and said it was my fault. Both times I dared them to give me a ticket, at which point they stomped away.

From a person who probably drives more than 90% of the population and got multiple speeding tickets when I was younger, it is quite frustrating. Probably 75% of my prior tickets are for speeds that would get me killed if I was to try to go that slow now. I am completely confident that I could get a ticket for going to slow and too fast for the same spped coming from Seattle. The Seattle traffic is usually bumper to bumper and requiring speeds 10 miles higher than what will get me a ticket in Tacoma, where the traffic is wide open.

Speed actually doesnt bother me. I commuted 45 mins on i5 for 8 years and saw a lot of crazy [Bleeeeep!], but I gotta say, many of the speeders are at least focused on driving. You can be safe and drive very fast.
By far the scary people are the distracted drivers and left lane zombies. They are definitely causing all kinds of problems and dont know or dont care.

When I was commuting from Santa Rosa to Greenbrae in the early AM I'd see those knuckleheads in my rearview mirror going from lane to lane trying to be 1st at something.

What I liked to do was pull alongside a car in the slow lane and park there. That knucklehead trying to be 1st would be stuck behind me and getting madder by the second. Bright lights. Honking of the horn. Pounding on his steering wheel. None of that would deter me from my mission to be an asshole. He was stuck until 101 widened to 6-8 lanes just north of Novato.

Mission accomplished.

So Hank is a dumbfuck self-appointed traffic cop.

Shocking.

I am glad there are virtually no cops between Seattle and home...because once I get a clear path, 70-80 is the way to go. Helps me make up for the interminable drive from my office to the freeway at 5pm.

The new tunnel has been working out great for me so far, it shaves about 15 or 20 minutes off my commute, and that's without going 70-80...which does not work so well on 99 and 509.

Fish on...

That is only making matters worse Hank. I just let them pass life is too short to get all up in arms especially with the psycho fuks in California. In exhibiting such passive aggressive behavior on the road you are basically just the same as that guy only in reverse.

How's the new tunnel from a engineering coolness or wow factor standpoint? I'd like to take a trip through it just to check it out (on a weekend of course).

It's fine, I guess. Well lit and very bright, I am curious about how deep it is, it goes down quite a ways, barely levels out and then goes back up for quite a ways. The novelty hasn't worn off yet, I have used it half a dozen times.

Definitely gets me out of South Lake Union faster than I-5.

In New York ( Long Island ) they average 80 and there's seldom a jack hole going slow in the fast lane. I think the cops know they have to not enforce tickets because of the amount of cars that have to disperse. Manhattan is like a GD war zone. My friend would drive us there instead of the subway. I stayed with her for a 2 week vacation, she had to work about 5 days when I was there. On her way to work she would drop me off at a station in little Jamaica. Just like the movies.

One day I was at a crosswalk in the heart of the city with a group of people waiting for the light to say walk, a second before the light turned this little girl about 5 years old broke away from her Parents and was struck by this huge fancy 4 door Benzer. This Girl went flying about six feet in the air and landed about 60-70 feet from the crosswalk, my day was ruined, I was just about sick. Her Mom in a panic ran as fast as she could and proceeds to pick her up. We talked her into just leaving her on the street. She was out and was in grave condition. It took EMS forever because of the traffic. The man that hit her was the driver for fat Rosie Odonnel. Still to this day I don't know if she survived. You can't unsee somethings.

Congrats Nick !

We got our water turned on Tuesday. I know what you mean, nothing like showering in your own bathroom. Gotta clean out the toilets real good cuz they didn't get flushed until the spent groceries hit the bowl and the paperwork was completed.

I'll have to forget about that new/used Toyota Tacoma for another year I guess.

Was heading out fishing yesterday.
Got up near Alderwood and the PS convergence kick in.
Was snowing pretty hard. Apparently driving hammered and snow plows don't mix.
