Fished all over the Nasty Saturday....not even one bump. Heard of one fish caught, but did not see, although there are a few more carcasses where the tribe puts there boats in. Shouldn't there be more fish by now? This is the closest river to my house, but not my favorite to fish. It took forever for me to pull a king out of it, and it looks as if my first chum will be just as long. I tried everything but dynamite today, maybe its time to try the Puyallup for some steelies. Anybody had any luck there recently?

My brother landed one and released 2 below Mounts bridge saturday morning and we both lost a couple fish above the tressel just before dark.
Still not alot of action though..

Hey guys, what time is high tide on the Nisqually today? I might give it a shot instead of driving back to Blue Creek this afternoon. Thanks!

I was fishing the drift just before the bend at the I5 bridge. Maybe I should try a little higher, possibly the Muck Creek area? Oh well Ill give it another try today with my 9yr old son, maybe he'll be good luck

Thanks! I've never had much luck on the Nisqually, but like you it's the closest river to home. I'll probably get better acquainted with it during next weeks half-day schedule. With onlya few hours of daylight its either Fort Lewis deer (archery ) or the Nisqually for a chum.

I fished the Nasty Yesturday out of a boat. The river is a little low but we managed to get around OK any lower and I wouldn't try it. Anyhow we picked up a couple of fish here and there but there is not a lot of fish in the river. The setup that seemed to be the hot rod was a red corky and some green yarn with shrimp scent. Talked to some guys above the tressel and they picked up a couple of fish. I think if the river raises a little a few fish might push up and with the rain we got it should. I also hear that this week is suppose to be the best week to fish the river as far as fish. So keep at it and good luck. The fish that we did catch were all nice bright fish with there stripes just starting to show.

Wooohooo....finally got one. My son and I got there about 1030 and put in at the corner just above the Mounts Rd bridge. Third cast...fish on. Hooked her about 15ft off shore. This hen was so bright a couple of guys thought it was a steelhead, by far the nicest looking chum I ever caught. Heard of a few other fish caught above the tressel. They aren't in thick yet, but the ones being caught are definetly worth the effort. Fished till about noon, nothing else.
Tight lines to ya
