Here’s what Marc’s friend texted him whose dad works for homeland security):
He said that they are preparing to mobilize the national guard. Preparing to dispatch them across the US along with military. Next they will call in 1st responders. He said they are preparing to announce a nationwide 1 week quarantine for all citizens All businesses closed. Everyone at home. They were told to pack and be prepared for up to 30 days deployment which he said means they may extend the quarantine up to 30 days. He told me to notify our family members and have them stock up and be prepared. They will announce this as soon as they have troops in place to help prevent looters and rioters... he said he got the call last night and was told to pack and be prepared for the call today with his dispatch orders. He thinks they will announce before the end of the weekend to keep people home on Monday.

In 1 week, I'm supposed to take a multi-leg plane trip over to South Korea and then board a booze cruise with a buncha spring breakin' Boomers and Millennials. There will be naked twister on the rear deck. Great fun! We'll be cruising to Iran, North Korea, Italy and final stops in NYC and Kirkland. Exciting! I live in my elderly parent's basement and I have asthma, diabeetus & heart disease while being a life long obese smoker. I've been planning on this trip for the past 56 hours and I'd be out my original $3.50 booking fees if I cancel. Do you think I should still take this trip and will it be safe for me?

Republican Sen. Burr, head of the Senate Intel Committee, was told what a clusterfukk was coming due to the Covid-19 pandemic...so he wrote an Op-Ed for FoxNews saying how well-prepared we were (when he knew we weren't) and how great things would be (when he knew they wouldn't), and then promptly sold $1.5 Million in stocks, notably a bunch of hospitality stocks.
We all know what happened to the stock market after that, especially to hospitality.

We had a few weeks of watching other countries manage this, and our "10 out of 10" response showed that we learned exactly zero.
We're on the exact same trajectory as China, Iran, and Italy...it's about to get a LOT worse.
If Washington State were a country, it would rank 8th in the world in deaths due to Covid-19.
