I'm going on a vacation that will bring me through Montana, the Black Hills of South Dakota, and Jackson, Wyoming. We will be trailer camping and I will have lots of time to fish in streams, rivers, and lakes with my float tube. Any one that has fished these areas have some favorite general patterns or places to fish? I would like to get the board going so tell people about it and lets start posting!

I was able to fish just about every day! hello I must have caught 50 trout. Some places were the Wind and Snake Rivers in Woming, Glacire National Park, and the Black Hills. I caught some nice rainbows pushing 17" on the Wind River. Many brook trout in the Black Hills, the largest 14" which is a trophy brook trout. And a few large cutts in Glacier N.P.

A friend of mine went to Montana on a reunion, and on some creek near Butte (I think thats the name), he said it was just loaded with rainbows... hardly any over 12 inches (although he did claim to see one that "had to be at least 20 inches!"..), but he was catching them like crazy on his fly flinger. It was his first time fly fishing!

Sounds like I live in the wrong state...
