Chair Carpenter and DIrector Susewind,
We thought you might be interested in the front cover of the The Reel News.
As you might be aware, the Reel News is a premier sports publication with a readership of over thirty-thousand citizen sportsmen and women.
The letter covers the financial costs that the departments culture of secrecy has cost over the years.
As the department just completed a plea for funding, we find it ironic that hundreds of thousands, and potentially millions of dollars are being waisted in your efforts to fight against real transparency.
In addition to increases in media coverage, signatures on the citizen petition asking for an end to the public prohibition to transparency are continuing to increase daily, with over seven thousand to date.
Citizen Petition to Open WDFW/Tribal North of Falcon It’s becoming clear that the citizens of this state are not OK with your continued silence, and ignoring the need for REAL transparency in the fisheries.
