I heard Jeff Head picked up a couple days ago with some larger fish, 8-10 pounds for the 3 boats I checked in with. Not all limits, but better than the week before. Last week I only marked smaller fish and released a few shakers, but not too many shakers out (at the Edmonds Tanks). I'm running whole green herring to try to keep shakers off the hooks. I try to keep away from Coho Killers...too many lethal shaker hook-ups and a waste of fishing time (in my opinion).

Sekiu? Coastal reports? Hood Canal?

How's it shaping up?

I agree on the coho killers, those shakers won't leave it alone and the little 10" chinook won't either and they are almost all mortally wounded by it. Didn't take long for me to give up the coho killers for a while.

I've gotten a couple nice fall coho in MA10 this past weekend, I think this coming week will be some nice fishing.

Fished 10 on Monday. Got 2 small ones before getting blown off at 9am. Buddy limited 4-8 this morning by 8am. They be should starting to really stack up now as long as low pressure stays away.

Went out yesterday in my friends boat, launched at Shillshole and trolled between the oil docks and Edmonds. Hot Spot flashers, bright green squids, Ace High fly under the squid for sparkle and salted herring strips soaked in bloody tuna w/ anise.

We got two early around 7-7:30, decent ocean fish 7-8 pounds at 50 -60 feet on the DR. Got a third one at 10:30 at 90 feet but after that the bite was slow. Had a couple drive bys but nothing more in the boat, quit at around 1:30.

Occasional strong N wind but mostly OK.

Hit the Oil Docks and then Jeff Head this morning. Went 1-2 both spots for my limit. Second fish was 9lbs on the scale.Wasn’t very long but was thick and looked like it had a beer belly. Had definitely been eating well.

Overall fish are a lot healthier looking this year, last year they were kind of scrawny.

The charters are having some good fishing. We fun fished Friday at Jeff Head and kept two, fished Shilshole Bay on Sunday and caught ten (kept 6). Report

Hit two wild ones (released) off Whidbey beaches a week ago over 5-6 hours of casting...but the highlight was fishing one of the prominent points, and suddenly around the corner came some orcas, including one that breached a couple times. They were close enough to be in casting range before following the rip out a ways - didn't think I could turn one with the 20# braid though.

FYI The TV says all Seattle boat ramps are closed. I called the City of Seattle info line and actually found the boat ramp guy. He said the official line is that Shilshole and others are closed but there are no barriers up. He said its up to the individual but we should not go out because of the breathing risk.

His number is 206 684-7249.

Saw a report from Vancouver BC last week that said the transient orcas came thru and cleaned out some seals. Hopefully they are making the rounds in Puget Sound now.

They hadn’t shown up yet where I was fishing today.
At least six fur bags sitting at the bottom of the rip waiting for coho to turn the corner.
Did see a whale though later in the day. Just the wrong type.

Friend got 4 at 10 pounds or better yesterday. First good dish he's had, except for a few singles.
