Yep it’s been pretty interesting. Many of the trading sites and apps have halted trading on GME and AMC.

I’m sure big brother will keep this from from ever happening again.

It sounds like some small investors found a way to take advantage of big wall street’s tricks and use it against them?

This is no different than how it has been all along...the 1% running the rigged game, dribbling out tiny teeny little scraps to keep the proletariat happy enough to keep voting to give all the money to the top 1%.

As long as you think that's ok, this is what you will get.

The part here that will be trouble for the manipulators and riggers is that their game was used against them, and they turned off the lights and shut the game down...which does not happen when they are fleecing us...that's just the "risk you take" when it's the other way around.

Jason, what happened here is that hedge fund managers shorted stocks...they make money when the stock loses value, and the money they make is yours that you lost when the stock went down and you sold at a loss.

A bunch of folks, mostly on reddit, got together and bought the fuckk out of the stocks that the managers shorted, driving the price of them thru the roof, and the managers' short position now lost them a TON of money. Now they have to buy the stocks at a far higher price than what they bet on.

As I said above...when that happens to the 99.9% who think they are in the game, the money disappears and reappears as yachts, mansions, and stock buy backs.

When it happens to the .1%, they stop the game in the middle, take their ball and go home.

That kind of collusion should have the feds all up their asses...but even if a bunch of them go to jail, it won't matter as long as the rest of us continue to play along and continue to allow them to transfer all of our wealth into smaller and smaller segments of society.

"We" just gave that .1% a massive tax break a few years ago, funding their plundering of the US taxpayer...the rest of us will see our taxes go up next year, and not because Biden raises them, but because that's how the Trump Tax Plan was designed.

Until voters who are duped into thinking that spreading our nation's wealth to our citizens is bad, but letting the top 1% literally plunder us and take all the money is "capitalism", then this will never stop.

I am glad these dudes figured it out.

We got in on some of this about 9 months ago, our portfolio is up about 1700%

Also...for those who were dumb enough to think that Robinhood is some sort of white hat trading house...they are owned by Citadel, affiliated with TD Ameritrade, and are just as bad as they rest...they used their investors to run up the stocks that they owned, and when shitt went sideways, they, too, stopped the trading, in collusion with all the rest.

It is an outrage that when a stock is obviously overpriced but Wall Street wants it that way, then it is okay. But when a stock is overpriced and they don’t want it that way, they shut it down.

I was a day late on it but many people made enough money to pay off student loans, mortgages etc. This will be much more effective than occupy Wall Street because it hits their bottom line. I’m sure that sub reddit in question will be either heavily moderated or shut down all together.

Follow Dave Portnoy on Twitter, that dude is hilarious. He does a lot of things for a good cause and has millions of followers. He was in the mix of it all.

In summary, even if there's a class action lawsuit for closing the option to purchase these stocks and shutting down trading platforms, it will cost these hedge fund guys 10% of what they made today doing what they did. But as a betting man, I'll bet Portnoy finds another loophole to kick the teeth in on those billionaire hedge fund crews..

I can't imagine a better way to use your Bigly Gigantic Socialist Capitalistic Bailout Fund Containing $600...and using it to totally fuckk over the hedge funds that have fukkked you over, over and over again.

The only part they left out of the above explanation is that after they short a stock, they employ massive market manipulation by putting out press releases and going on TV Cable News shows and talking schit about the stock, driving the price down so they can create that profit margin between the borrowed price and going price.

They've been getting away with it, until recently, when individual traders turned the tables and did exactly the opposite...bought bought bought it and drove the price up, and then sold it back to the hedge fund at a profit for themselves, and a huge loss for the hedge fund.

So sad.

In this case, it would only matter if your mutual fund owned any GME or AMC, which is pretty unlikely. I'd imagine that some funds own some of those, but not very many, and not very much.

If you have money with Edward Jones you're already getting screwed/scammed.

I recently rolled over all my lost 401ks into a new Schwab IRA. They say no fees so I hope I don't get screwed.


On a related note, I had five 401ks that i had to track down. One was from around 2001 that I forgot all about. It was only worth $16k last I looked about 15 years go. When I went to roll it over it was worth $49k. What a nice surprise. Maybe I can loan Evojuice 7 hundo that he can give to hank so he can pay Stam.

Yeah that's the other side of it too. The last 2 mornings, my TD Ameritrade mobile app was down for roughly 45 minutes each morning and the main website was down roughly 20 minutes each day and all this without a justifiable explanation. Although I'm not in very risky stocks or GME/AMC, it did screw some friends of mine that couldn't get in and move on stocks that were affected by the madness... One of them lost $3000 this morning when AMC tanked, so he's still holding it....

In the end, they will run these stocks to the moon again. Just because they can...

I've re-read my contract and know this is true, but there are also legal requirements brokerages must follow in these scenarios. Those requirements were not followed in this case! SEC notified, case opened with firm.
