Hey Brian,
How did you get up so high to take that first picture? I don't think you get that view from down on the road.

Hey Tony, Pic wasn't taken from the S Skagit hwy - I've shot a few pics from there and nothing like the views he's getting. Must be a logging road further up that hill. Homer gets to some seriously out-of-the-way places ( probably searching for dump sites for his dead bodies).

Those pictures don't bother me at all. If I want to see lots of fish milling around I just go up to the Wallace river hatchery and look in the holding pond.

Well, motor home is on the south bank of the Chetco waiting (again!) for the river to drop and clean up. That said .... !!! Other than with the high water over the past week every slot's been filled in, new slots formed .. and I'm back to square one with my spey rods.
But not is all lost (Dear God I hope not!!) as I have one of Bob Meiser's new 16 foot (yes, sixteen foot) 6/7 speys in the auto. Had the opportunity to be one of the 'test casters' on the proto and, with a tad of tail wind on the Deschutes, I could lay out the ENTIRE 150 feet of a 10/11 Brit Carron line plus a 15 foot leader.
Gather the new roll up is based on the SA 7/8 XLT line (or the Carron noted above) plus a "mystery line" Bob gave me to try.
Next week should be interesting ... if the damned wind would knock down coming in off the coast (think 20 foot swells capped with 10-12 foot breakers on top flopping on the beach).
