1. Unemployment for the self employed....
not offered under Obama

2. Limitations on Evictions and foreclosures...
Also not offered under Obama

3. An economy that appears to be coming back,
despite the huge problems COVID presented.

4. Lowest black employment rate ever. with 3.5% for the population
as a whole.

5. Re-negotiated NAFTA

6. Did not start any new wars. Opened some relations with North Korea.

7. Took the US to energy independence. (notice how under Biden "demand for Gas" continues to soar. )

8. Saw legislation pass that allowed adoptive parents to withdraw up to $5000 from their retirement plans with no penalty.

9. And....restricted travel from China early on.....



just a few and the list goes on and on. But the most telling for me was that I was better off in the last year than I was for almost all of Obama's administration, despite all the COVID restrictions.

It's too early to talk about the impact Biden will have, but if the problems at the border are any indication, we are in trouble. Hopefully he will get his bearings and everything will go great.

Now, lets hear facts about how Trump policies directly effected "your life" in a negative way in terms of

1. Your income and job security...(didn't you just get a new job in the past few years Todd, and buy a new home?)

2. National Security....

3. Your personal security (and not just rants about COVID)....

4. How much you personally spend in taxes if you are poor or middle class....

In the trump years, my beautiful Amercian wife of Hawaiian heritage has been called a wetback, a spic, etc., sometimes by idiots in trump hats. (She's Hawaiian). She has been confronted by those dickheads with the trump flags on their trucks who spit at her and said "we're sending you back to Mexico". She's never even been to Mexico. A dickhead with a proud buys shirt brandished a handgun at her in the Target parking lot.

She has been physically pushed in the supermarket while being called a wetback again (she's Hawaiian). In the past, she faced racism maybe once a decade. Since trump came on the scene with his racist bullschit and encouragement, the frequency of attacks on her were more like once a month. I do the shopping now so she doesn't get harassed or worse.

My brother is in a similar situation with his Korean American wife.

My uncle, who I use to talk to regularly, being of the generation that believes the president no matter what, he now believes the Big Lie about the election. He stopped calling simply because I said the election was fair.

No one has to credit Trump for actually doing anything in particular. Rather, one has to look at where we are today compared to where we could be. Simply put, people are outraged at Trump. They claim he destroyed their lives and the country. That he was the most harmful thing that has ever happened. In the end, most have endured one of the most damaging world wide events, with minimal long term negative effects and many, if not most, are probably way ahead of where they were before his presidency.

To think that we could have gotten through COVID with no damage or ill effects is ridiculous. Could Trump have done better. Yes, and that is probably the biggest reason he was not elected. Could he have done worse. For me, I only have to look at what happened in during Obama's presidency and how the policies failed to protect anyone I knew, and actually directly destroyed many lives. Personally I permanently lost about 1/2 or more of my wealth under Obama and just about lost it all. If I had not been positioned just right, I would have. Yet, in the past 4 years, the half I was able to save has tripled or quadrupled. This past year has sucked, but not anywhere near what the 8 years under Obama did. I know he did not cause the crisis, but, in the end, he did very little to make it better for almost everyone I know.

I am truly sorry your wife has had to go through that. I live in a very diverse neighborhood, go to a small church that is has about 7 nationalities among 100 members, and my kids go to a school that is about 70 percent minorities, so it probably is much more hidden. In fact, I would guess that wearing a trump hat or shirt would have much more of a reaction.

While Trump does deserve blame, I would also argue that the press and democrats have almost as much. The divide in our country is disgusting.
