I’m actually glad I wasn’t hired as a cop. It was almost 15 years ago and I would have hated it, especially given the current climate.
Passed the physical test, got a perfect score on the written, passed the polygraph test, the background test, and the board interview. I didn’t get hired but they did hire 3 minorities much further down the list looking for diversity. I was told to apply again and that I would probably get it the next time around by one of the hiring staff. If anything it sheds light on the broken system rather than any lack of my credentials or abilities.
Danny boy wouldn’t get hired because he is small and has an anger/temperament problem. He would probably have ended up dead on the street running his little flapper and not being able to back it up.
