Hello all, I am headed back to the States for some medical stuff in early May and am thinking about a guided trip on the Cowlitz. A couple of questions: 1. Is there still a late winter run/early summer run component of fish on the Cow around early May? 2. I'm looking for a guide, Phil was my go to (may he RIP). Who is your favorite on the Cow these days? Thanks in advance!

1. May is typically dead for winters. Hopefully the hatchery gets their quota on springers and extends the season.

Mid May used to be the peak below the Barrier for Spring Chinook.

Most of the effort is below Blue Creek 'cause one can encounter more marked steelhead for harvest.

I used to chat with Ron Holt at the BC ramp before the Cvd scare. Perhaps he can help you find a qualified guide.

Never heard of the Addicted guys fishing the Cowlitz for springers, so they wouldn't be my choice if that's the river you're set on.

I have decided to do the Wind River area with Clancy Holt's crew. Thanks for the help!

Nahhh bro lol we used to use them for bait before we could afford to buy bait. They work good for a vareity of species. Might be able to make a video on using weiners for bait!

You just got to watch their site addicted.fishing for merch drops bruh.

I use wieners for catfish bait, the channel catfish sure suck those big wieners down!

Many of the old fish managers in WA would use a wiener under their bobber.

Getting a spot with Clancy makes me think you made the best possible choice. Throw up some photos if you get any fish. Also, you should book a trip with him to South America and post pics of that as well.
