I'm not fishing, so this won't be a fishing report but here's what I saw on my travels yesterday and today....

1. Not many people fishing, but there were people/boats/rigs from White Bridge to tide water.

2. White Bridge boat ramp is "blocked off" so no launching there BUT gravel bar on West side of river had a couple of rigs there. Now I don't know if those rigs dropped boats off or if they were take out rigs from people putting in above White Bridge, at 7400 Line or Suderbee's(sp)??

3. Crossover Bridge, there were rigs there, don't know if they were put in or take out.

4. Black Creek, 1 rig Saturday and today, Sunday 3 rigs, I know 2 were take out, can't say about other.

Water was up.........

Didn't check the Nooch, but I fished the Satsop a bit yesterday. Water was definitely up, and the river has changed quite a bit since it closed last fall. Be careful out there if you're floating....

I’ll be interested to see the Satsop come October 1st. Last floated in early November. I usually try to float it a few days before the opener in my single person pontoon in case I need to carry it around any new obstacles. Culvert Hole area and below on the Nooch has changed quite a bit from last year as well.

My buddy floated the Nooch in his pontoon and they slayed the chromies! Lots of steelhead around.

It’s a big river man. Lots of good spots to bank or float. We can spread out. If everyone takes they’re turns on the popular holes like we do on the puyallup then it works out good for everyone. All the rivers have steelhead in them right now too! Just get out and fish bro!

The Puyallup is a shitshow, in large part due to the number of people that fish and trash it. You’ve made my point for me. Let people come out and see for themselves whether or not there are fish. Not that there are tons of people viewing this website, but the less pressure the better. This goes for all rivers.

Don't forget to have your county resident card with you. Grays Harbor folks, aka Locals, can fish on everyday but Monday without pressure from non-Locals. Non-locals are allowed on the river on Mondays and any day after 1900 hrs.

These returns are coming from a plant of 69k fish, I wouldn't get too excited.

I’d be curious to know what total harvest was last year. Seemed like a tough year for everyone including me. The heat definitely didn’t help things. I wouldn’t be shocked if total sport harvest was somewhere around 300.

White Bridge launch will remain closed for a couple reasons; because of in-stream restoration work in the stretch downstream to crossover bridge, but ALSO because they identified that a large hole has developed under the launch itself and they are worried about the integrity of it and safety of those launching.
They have been asking boaters coming down from above to take out on river right at the gravel bar (and please drive slowly and carefully down that road, the old black dog was almost hit in front of me by someone).

Please do not float below White Bridge as the construction bridge will be installed in the next couple weeks and it will be an impassable barrier.

Is that a not so subtle challenge?

It doesnt seem like too big of a problem. I might float the nooch in my kayak. I could probably take the kayak around it and continue my float. Might get some cool footage! I will put it up on my channel and give a report.
