Ordered 2 of the 8’2” 8-20 lb Lamiglas BattleGlass rods, apparently designed to pull plugs and divers among other things. Figured they’d fit the bill for tributary plugging for Summer Steelhead, Coho, Winter Steelhead, and do okay on Chinook, provided it’s the right person handling hit.

Anyone have luck with these? I’ve never been a rod snob, and I almost went with the Classic Glass model, but feel these would be easier to find replacements for if the need ever arises.

Oh, I've not heard of those rods but then I no longer pull plugs or use bait divers.

What I have started to use for my "spoon fishing", is old FenGlas, fiber glass, they just seem to "work better". I kept mine from the "old days", 70's - 80's. Had them re-wrapped with new guides. I still see some of the old Fen Glass rods on EBAY or at garage sales.

Good luck with those new rods!!!!!!!

Wow, wow, wow

After I made the post above....I looked on EBAY, prices like I paid $25 - $50, in past 20 years are now as much or MORE than new custom rods.

I got the 8'. 8.5' and 9', when I bought....... prices, like gas price up up up and away.

sorry to take up more space.

Yeah I can’t see the inflation slowing down any time soon. I pretty much look at all my fishing gear as an investment at this point. Better than gambling, smoking, or drinking it away. Although it does go hand in hand with a few cold ones on the river.

Great point there. No matter how expensive fishing gear gets, it will always be a better investment than booze and smoke. Here's hoping my brain absorbs it....
