Is the Quileute system being netted through this emergency closure?

I see they are starting to reopen some of the rivers: Dungeness and Grey Wolf Saturday Oct. 22

Not sure, but I would guess Tribal fisheries continued, as planned. None of the Tribes were involved in the closures... that was all WDFW. I'm pretty sure they only closed the OP rivers to sports to be consistent in their screwing of the in-river angler.

It's encouraging (and kind of weird) that the rivers you mentioned are being reopened. Let me guess... no wild Chinook runs to speak of in those rivers?

If its about chinook, then I have to ask, do all the rivers closed even have a chinook Run?

Not sure that tribal fisheries continued on Quileute? A couple years ago when the state closed coastal rivers this time of year, I heard that the tribes pulled their nets. Thats why I asked.

Dungeness has a Chinook run that is ESA listed.

Dungenous Chinook are early spawners. They have finished spawning now.

From what I have been told and seen the Quileute's are not netting unless that changed today. I did drive down on the 15th and 2 or 3 Sleds were out there fishing with Rod & Reel. Maybe Sustenance or Ceremonial. I went back the next day at the same time, and they were not there.

I hope they stay out until fish have had time to move upriver.
