My Dad and I are going up to Alaska this summer and dont no where to go we have a limited budget, are flights are paid for but we also need a place to stay and maybe a one day guide. So where should we go to catch alot of big kings for around 1500-2000$$$

This had been asked on this board many times.

The best bang for the buck is with Bob Ball, the really big one on this board. He will steer ya straight. Ya just gotta love that Kasilof River. fp

Why not try the very guy who hosts this site?? That would be a start (and a polite one at that).

If you spend a day with Bob, that would be money very well spent. You could also do some halibut fishing and Bob can set you up with that.

The nice thing about the Kenai Peninsula is that it can be done DIY. If you just wanted to spend one day with a guide you could then go travel around the peninsula fishing the Ninilchik, the creek right next to it (name skips my mind), the Anchor, the Russian etc.

There is also a an amazing B&B called the Bluffs or something, I do not remember. It was a BEAUTIFUL place with amazing food and out hosts were great.

You said alot of big kings, don't go to Kasilof.I don't mean to ruffle any feathers here,I know alot of people here like the Kasilof,I do myself, and fish it all the time. But the kings just dont run very big there, and sometimes you got to put in alot of hours to hook up,but then I always fish from the bank there. For sheer numbers of fish I think the valley is a hard place to beat, plus there are some BIG fish there....just my 2 cents....good luck...
