You’ve got a favorite hole and you know there is fish in it. No other boats around or conflicts with bank anglers. Your going to fish it twice, once with drift gear/floats then once with plugs. Question is which presentation do you go through the hole first with? Do you plug it first and row/motor back and bait/jig etc fish it or the other way around?

This is what I'd do if it's that good of hole with no other boats or bankies,
#1 Pull plugs through it.
#2 Bait fish it from the bank top to bottom.
#3 Pull bait and divers through it on the way to the next spot.
Of course that would all change if I hooked up during one of these tactics.Good luck,

I have plugs in the boat but they are rarely used. Drift fishing is always my first choice. If I don’t get a fish on the first pass I might even start at the top and drift it again. I’m not sure why, but this has produced on many trips. If I have someone who has not caught many fish in the boat I might run plugs through the hole a second time just to be sure. After that it’s time to go….

Second opinion: I fish the least "spooky" method first, then the more obnoxious. In my case, I'll fish a fly through the hole first. If no action, I'll go to a spinner or spoon.
